Memory of the Designed Landscape
Memory of the Designed Landscape consists of a network of partners involved in garden and landscape architecture in the Netherlands. The network, which will be further developed in the period 2025-2028, is committed to preserving the memory of the designed landscape in a sustainable way and keeping it alive.
By combining the strengths and knowledge of heritage institutions, museums, educational and cultural institutions, knowledge institutes, makers, designers, governments and other partners, we are working towards a future-proof policy for the preservation and management of the archives that document Dutch garden and landscape architecture.
The network can be divided into three groups: archive makers, archive managers and archive users.
The aims of the network are:
- To support the sustainable preservation of archives of garden and landscape architecture;
- To develop centralised digital access to the archives of participating institutions and individuals;
- To connect those active in the field of garden and landscape architecture (designers, users, managers and other stakeholders);
- To share and develop knowledge within the network, and also beyond (e.g. with and for training courses, universities, archival institutions).
