The 17th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia has been postponed until August 2020 due to disruption caused by the coronavirus outbreak in Italy. The Biennale will now begin on 29 August and run until 29 November 2020. It was originally scheduled to open on 23 May. The decision was made due to measures taken by governments to restrict the spread of the virus.

Opening on 11 July 2020, an exhibition at Het Nieuwe Instituut in Rotterdam promises to cast new light on the work of De Stijl pioneers Nelly and Theo van Doesburg, following the restoration of their architecture archive. Atelier Nelly and Theo Van Doesburg will recognise Nelly as a key figure in the consolidation of the reputation of Van Doesburg and De Stijl. The magnificent focus of the exhibition will be on the couple's most striking joint project: their studio-house in the Parisian suburb of Meudon.

Het Nieuwe Instituut is acquiring increasing numbers of digital archives of architects, urban planners and organisations working within these domains. This calls for a new approach to the sustainable management of digital materials. After a test project, the Digital Archive will be set up in 2020. This will facilitate the effective, correct and controllable management and preservation of the digital collection.

Two drawings by Theo van Doesburg of designs for Café Aubette will be exhibited at the Belvedere, Vienna, from 14 February to 1 June 2020. That these drawings can now be exhibited at all is entirely due to intensive research and conservation work carried out by the Disclosing Architecture restoration and conservation programme.
