More-than-Human Among Best Dutch Book Designs 2020

4 March 2021

More-than-Human, a publication by Het Nieuwe Instituut, Office for Political Innovation, General Ecology Project at the Serpentine Galleries and Manifesta Foundation.

More-than-Human has been selected as one of the Best Dutch Book Designs of 2020! Het Nieuwe Instituut congratulates designers Adriaan Mellegers and Vanessa van Dam, printer Cassochrome and the entire team. The book includes visions by various authors on a more equal and climate-fair world: a world in which the connections and conflicts of humans and non-human species are no longer approached only from the human perspective. The book was published in collaboration with the Office for Political Innovation, the Serpentine Galleries' General Ecology and the Manifesta Foundation.

For the Best Dutch Book Designs of 2020, a total of 267 entries were assessed for their distinctive qualities by a panel of experts looking for outstanding work in areas like content, design, picture editing, typography, choice of materials, printing and binding. The 33 books selected can be admired in an exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam later this year, coinciding with the publication of this year's catalogue. More information is available on the Best Verzorgde Boeken website.
