As part of Just Hanging Out, a series of daytime barbecues curated by AFARAI in De Nieuwe Tuin. Rotterdam based artist Charlie Koolhaas will transform the wild garden into a colourful event space, using her eclectic collection of fabrics.

A guided meditation created by artist Annika Kappner invites the visitor to explore the (bio) diversity and complexity of The New Garden.

Our experience of our urban parks is primarily visual: colour combinations, shapes and textures soothe our eyes and create a pleasant atmosphere. But what happens when we engage our other senses?

A guided walk through the Museumpark and The New Garden with urban gardener, author and designer Caroline Zeevat, followed by a tasting of wild plants and herbs.

In collaboration with the Architecture Film Festival Rotterdam and the Vereniging Deltametropool, we will seek out untamed nature in the city at the tail end of the summer. We are screening two films that address the subject in different ways: Louis Le Roy and Brussels Wild.
