A city without trees is hard to imagine. Trees make the city more beautiful and the air cleaner, but they are also a popular object of study, especially in times of climate change. The Swedish documentary The Spoon, the Bowl and the Knife tells the story of the traditional Scandinavian craft of woodcarving based on the life and work of the famous Swedish woodcarver Wille Sundqvist.

Current experiments with wood are leading to innovative and controversial applications. Designers Marjan van Aubel, Lex Pott and Chris Kabel will be telling you about their own experiments with and experiences of this versatile material.
