Who is We?
Het Nieuwe Instituut, commissioner of the Dutch pavilion for the 17th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, presents the Netherlands' official contribution to the biennale: Who is We? The biennale will be open to the public from 22 May to 21 November 2021.
Het Nieuwe Instituut programmatically links the ambitions of the Dutch pavilion in Venice to regional and national contexts through collaborations with the Cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the Creative Industries Fund NL, and others.

Under the title Values for Survival, Caroline Nevejan (Chief Science Officer for the City of Amsterdam) and a large group of scientists, designers, and policymakers present a programme relating to the themes of the Dutch pavilion, with a focus on current spatial issues in the Netherlands.

In December 2019, Het Nieuwe Instituut and the Creative Industries Fund NL selected three design teams from their Open Call for the public parallel programme of the Dutch pavilion. Open Calls like these promote and contribute to knowledge and the development of research in the fields of architecture and urbanism.
