Claudy Jongstra
Blanket: wool on silk
Claudy Jongstra (1963) makes artworks and architectural installations from hand-felted materials. She uses raw, natural materials and techniques such as felting, spinning, combing and weaving to make her pieces, personally carrying out as much of the work as possible. The wool she uses comes from her own flock of Drenthe heath sheep and the plant dyes she uses come from her own garden. A wool and silk blanket by Claudy Jongstra is available in The New Haberdashery.
