Nieuwe Instituut and Sonneveld House
Tue - Wed 10am - 5pm
Thu 10am - 9pm (Sonneveld House open until 5pm)
Fr - Sun 10am - 5pm
Thursday nights are free at Nieuwe Instituut. Enjoy a complimentary ticket to the museum: 5pm - 9pm every Thursday.
The museum and Sonneveld House are open on Dutch holidays on 18 April, 20 and 21 April, 29 May, 8 and 9 June and 26 December 2025.
Closed on 25 December, 1 January, 26 April (King's Day) and 5 May (Liberation Day) 2025. Open from 10am - 4pm on 24 December and 31 December.
Sonneveld House is a national monument that requires regular maintenance. Unfortunately, due to work being carried out on the walls and ceiling, the guest room and linen room on the second floor will be closed from 12 January to 21 February 2026.
Re-Centre
Re-Centre is open to the public during museum opening hours. You can visit the Re-Centre to work, read the books and journals on open display or view the small exhibitions.
Would you like to consult archive material, order books from the depot or speak to a member of staff? Then come and see us Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm.
Re-Centre is closed on 1 January and 25 December. On Friday 26 December and Friday 2 January, the Re-Centre will be open, but no services will be provided. You are welcome to use the library, but please note that there will be no staff available to answer questions or retrieve materials from the depots. On Wednesday 24 December and Wednesday 31 December, the Re-Centre will close at 4 p.m.
