Thursday nights are free at Nieuwe Instituut. Enjoy a complimentary ticket to the museum: 5pm - 9pm every Thursday.

The museum and Huis Sonneveld will be open in 2026 on the following Dutch holidays: Friday 3 April (Good Friday), Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April (Easter), Thursday 14 May (Ascension Day), Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May (Whit Sunday and Whit Monday), and Saturday 26 December (Boxing Day).
On Thursday 24 December and Thursday 31 December, we will be open from 10am to 4pm.

In 2026, we will be closed on Thursday 1 January (New Year’s Day), Monday 27 April (King’s Day), and Friday 25 December (Christmas Day).

Sonneveld House is a national monument that requires regular maintenance. Unfortunately, due to work being carried out on the walls and ceiling, the guest room and linen room on the second floor will be closed from 12 January to 22 March 2026.

Re-Centre is open to the public during museum opening hours. You can visit the Re-Centre to work, read the books and journals on open display or view the small exhibitions.

Would you like to consult archive material, order books from the depot or speak to a member of staff? Then come and see us Tuesday to Tuesday from 10am to 5pm, and Friday from 10am to 1pm.
