Thursday nights are free at Nieuwe Instituut. Enjoy a complimentary ticket to the museum: 10:00 – 21:00 every Thursday.

Please note: On Thursdays 13, 20 and 27 August, there will be no evening opening and the museum will close at 17:00.

The museum and Sonneveld House will be open in 2026 on the following Dutch holidays: Friday 3 April (Good Friday), Sunday 5 and Monday 6 April (Easter), Tuesday 5 May (Liberation Day), Thursday 14 May (Ascension Day), Sunday 24 and Monday 25 May (Whit Sunday and Whit Monday), and Saturday 26 December (Boxing Day).
On Thursday 24 December and Thursday 31 December, we will be open from 10:00 to 16:00.

In 2026, we will be closed on Thursday 1 January (New Year’s Day), Monday 27 April (King’s Day), and Friday 25 December (Christmas Day).

Re-Centre is open to the public during museum opening hours. You can visit the Re-Centre to work, read the books and journals on open display or view the small exhibitions.
