Open Space 2024
16 February 2024 - 16 June 2024
Chaeeun Lee
Artist Chaeeun Lee works across disciplines and media. The narrative objects she creates are somewhere between spatial design and living environment. In the context of Open Space, she presents Endophyte, in which she juxtaposes her own experiences of identity, coexistence and adaptation with the symbiotic relationships between trees, and between trees and the parasites which infect them. How can we, as incomparable actors in an ecosystem, live together and cooperate in a way that is beneficial to all, despite our differences?
Endophyte
Many organisms undergo changes in their form and characteristics due to various factors. The parasite and its host, although physically different, coexist, benefit each other and form a unique bond. This symbiotic relationship defines the parasite’s existence.
