Residency
The -1 residency programme is dedicated to the development of early-career artists who are engaged in and with digital culture. Our residencies last six months long and begin with the installation of a work that the resident wishes to develop or expand upon. During the residency period, residents are encouraged to change, reimagine or update the artworks on public display as a way of thinking, working with, and imagining the process of creative practice.
As part of the residency, residents work closely with the -1 team through dedicated one-on-one research, installation and spatial meetings that occur at regular intervals throughout the six month period. As well as moments to engage with the -1 team, the resident will have access to different working spaces within the Nieuwe Instituut and the support of the production and AV teams to help realise their work.
