International Visitors Programme
In the context of the Cinekid festival, two prominent media professionals from the United States - Zach Lieberman and Golan Levin - have been invited to the Netherlands. On October 9 and 10 they visited various new media institutes in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, including Het Nieuwe Instituut.
Lieberman and Levin will give a lecture on October 15 during the New Media Conference, part of Cinekid for Professionals, where they will talk about collaboration within artistic research and what this can mean for issues such as informal, practical learning. The conference can be seen as a continuation of the project Learning to be Human, which Het Nieuwe Instituut organised during DEAF 2014. Lieberman and Levin will also make a number of installations for the Cinekid Medialab. The visit of Lieberman and Levin will also generate new input for the programme tracks Things and Materials and Time of Het Nieuwe Instituut.
