With a three-day programme media lab SETUP wants to start a conversation about new inequalities in society as a possible consequence of automation. During three days various parties and Eubanks will meet to discuss and take stock of the situation in the Netherlands.

On 16 January, Eubanks will speak during the Privacyrede 2019, in Utrecht. In her lecture Eubanks explains how the new 'data regime' has a serious impact on countless lives, using sensational and painful examples. On Thursday 17 January, Eubanks will talk to members of various political parties during a [public hearing](https://www.tweedekamer.nl/debat_en_meeting/committee meetings/ details?id=2018A05600). Virginia Eubanks (Associate Professor of Political Science, University at Albany) writes about technology and social justice. For her book Automating Inequality (2018) she investigated the consequences of data mining and predictive algorithms on the 'working-class' of America.
