Susan Freinkel (USA) / October 2014

In the context of the International Visitor Programme, Susan Freinkel visited the Netherlands from October 22 to 25. Freinkel is the author of Plastic, A Toxic Love Story and was the main speaker during the lecture Hello PLASTIC at Het Nieuwe Instituut on Thursday, October 23.

As part of the programme, Freinkel visited Het Nieuwe Instituut and spoke with Rotterdam-based designers, such as Chris Kabel and Koehorst in 't Veld. She also visited the Dutch Design Week, which was presented in Eindhoven at that time.

About Susan Freinkel

Susan Freinkel is a science writer whose work has appeared in a variety of international publications, including Discover, Reader's Digest, Smithsonian, The New York Times, OnEarth, Health, and Real Simple. In 2005, she was awarded an Alicia Patterson Fellowship, which allowed her to conduct much of the research for her book American Chestnut. The book won a 2008 National Outdoor Book Award. Freinkel is a graduate of Wesleyan University and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
