Purpose of visit

Paul Greenhalgh will give a talk at Het Nieuwe Instituut on 11 June in conjunction with The Future of the Expo Model. Greenhalgh, the author of the essential world-expo history Fair World, will discuss the cultural significance of world's fairs and the recent evolution of the model. While in the Netherlands, he will visit the design office Superuse Studios and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Bio

Greenhalgh trained as an artist before becoming a writer and historian. He is an art history professor and the director of the University of East Anglia's Sainsbury Centre for the Visual Arts. He previously worked as head of research at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Greenhalgh has published numerous books and articles and is working on a book about craft in the modern era and the history of ceramics.
