Date of Visit
24 to 28 October
Goal of the visit
Egor Kraft visits the Netherlands for Impakt Festival 2018 (24-28 October) where his installation _Air Kiss_ is programmed. Air Kiss is a film and research project portraying a scenario where citizenship is a digital membership - and ownership - to a collectivized system in which governance is exercised by an artificial intelligence (AI). The project explores the social, political and aesthetic repercussions of algorithmic decision-making executed based on citizens' location and behaviour. It takes a critical standpoint towards a future society -neither a dystopia nor a utopia- where state and corporate governance is rendered obsolete through a collectively owned and globally distributed neural networks which provides state functions as a virtual service. Kraft visits the Netherlands through the Open Call of Het Nieuwe Instituut's International Visitors Programme.
