International Visitors Programme
In 2022, María Clelia Viollaz, Dean of Architecture in the University of San Pablo T, Argentina was invited to visit the Netherlands between May 9 to 14 through the International Visitors Program.
Her schedule included meetings with professionals based in the Netherlands working in the fields of architecture, design and education. Each meeting gave her the opportunity to share experiences related to public appreciation and social significance of architecture, design and digital culture, and promoted future exchanges between these disciplines. Viollaz had the opportunity to meet with leading professionals such as Jurgen Bey, Merve Bedir, Ellen Albers, Clemens Driessen, Thijs van Spaandonk, Hicham Khalidi, to name a few people. Her visit explored possibilities of different researching projects, exhibitions, lectures, debates, workshops and educational activities that they could collaboratively hold in the future, as a way of strengthening the relationship between the Latin American and Dutch network of creative sector.
Clelia Viollaz is an Architect and Environmental Consultant based in Tucumán, Argentina. She is Vice Director of the Institute of Design (IDEC) and Coordinator of Architecture of the University of San Pablo T. At the IDEC she leads the programs of scholarships, internships and traineeships for the degrees of Architecture, Industrial Design, Landscaping and Textile Design. Especially interested in developing hybrid pedagogies in university teaching and in researching the applying of new computer and virtual tools such as GIS for the development of a more sustainable and inclusive architecture and urbanism. She is also an Environmental Consultant. She is working in the design of urbanizations in areas of high environmental vulnerability in an interdisciplinary team. She advices local governments on changes in urban legislation in mountain áreas and also coordinates municipal government actions in urban solid waste management.
