Since 1991 we have been able to go online en masse and the digital world is at our feet: Skype with the other side of the world, everything you want is available on demand. Our homes are also on the way to becoming 'smart'. Meanwhile, social networks and Internet of Things products are collecting more and more data about us. Does this mean a utopian future or do we set off on dystopian scenes like the popular Netflix series Black Mirror? During Designers & The Digital Age, storytellers, designers and filmmakers will discuss the influence of these technologies on our daily lives. How do these multimedia projects make us think about our daily connection and what's next?

Alexandra Deschamps Sonsino is an internet of things author, consultant, public speaker and entrepreneur with a background in industrial and interaction design. She wrote _Smarter Homes: how technology will change your home life_ (Apress, 2018) was the first UK distributor of the Arduino and is the founder of the Good Night Lamp, which is in the permanent collection of the London Design Museum. Her projects are also part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

She has been organising the London Internet of Things Meetup since 2011. She was named 1st in a list of 100 Internet of Things Influencers (Postscapes, 2016), 2nd in Top 100 Internet of Things Thought Leaders (Onalytica, 2014) and in the Top 100 Influencial Tech Women on Twitter (Business Insider, 2014). She's been included in the longlist of Computer Weekly's Most Influential Women in Tech in the UK (2017 & 2018).
