International Visitors Programme
On 30 October 2018, Beeld en Geluid - the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision will organise a new edition of the Cross Media Café about online and offline brand experiences. Through the Open Call of the International Visitors' Programme Beeld en Geluid has invited Alejandro Cohen.
The Cross Media Café goes deeper into building online and offline communities. Questions like 'How to bring people together?', 'What makes a community successful?' and 'Which offline and online combinations work best when setting up a community' are discussed by a panel of digital experts. Furthermore the Café demonstrates how an active community can be built, based on examples from practice.
During the Cross Media Café, Cohen will show how the online community around its radio station dubLab has lead to new events and outlets.
Alejandro Cohen is founder of dubLab, a non-profit internet radio station based in Los Angeles, broadcast via Shoutcast. dubLab has been involved with art exhibitions, film projects, event production, and record releases and works with a collective of approximately 30 DJs.
