Purpose of visit

Adam Clarke and Rachel Uwa will each lead a masterclass in Amsterdam on 22 October as part of the Cinekid professional programme, in which an international group of media and education professionals comes together each year to discuss new developments in children's media. Earlier in the week, Clarke and Uwa will provide a preview of their masterclasses at an informal expert meeting for Dutch educationalists, teachers and lecturers at Het Nieuwe Instituut.

Bios

Adam Clarke uses Minecraft, games, traditional art and technology to inspire and entertain. He works globally with institutions, museums, schools and companies to find groundbreaking ways to interact with young gamers. He produces the YouTube channel Everyday Minecraft and co-stars in stampylonghead's new Minecraft show WonderQuest as Wizard Keen. His current project, Tate Worlds, lets players explore and interact with famous artworks through a series of playable Minecraft maps.

Rachel Uwa founded the School of Machines, Making & Make-Believe in Berlin, where she dreams up experimental new learning formats aimed at increasing diversity, empathy and creativity in technology and education. She is dedicated to the imaginative and non-sensical exploration of art, technology, and human connection. Uwa is an artist and organiser with a background in audio engineering and visual effects. For years, she's organised social justice and art and technology communities and events large and small.
