Nieuwe Instituut is joining the Pavilion Days at the Venice Architecture Biennale with Plumbing the System. Pavilions will programme public talks and tours through their exhibitions as well as publicly address the questions of exhibition making in the city of Venice.

Plumbing the System, the official Dutch contribution to the 18th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, will be opened by State Secretary for Culture and Media Gunay Uslu on Thursday 18 May at 17:00, during the pre-opening days.

At every edition of La Biennale di Venezia, people travel back and forth and materials are brought in. Nieuwe Instituut and the Creative Industries Fund NL have invited architects, urban planners and spatial researchers to consider possible solutions for the pressures that such large-scale events exert on the ecosystems around a host city.
