(Un)Authorised: Alternative Records of the Built Environment
Suspenseful and eerie, The Building traps you in a bureaucratic labyrinth of impersonal architecture.
Inspired in part by Stanisław Lem’s Memoirs Found in a Bathtub, The Building transforms the familiar architecture of official institutions into an unsettling, eerie experience, set inside the uncanny maze of the corridors, staircases, offices, and minimalist concrete spaces of a vast, mid-century government building. As you ascend through its seemingly endless floors, you get the absurd feeling that something might happen or someone may be watching from afar, but it is never clear who or why. Suspenseful rather than outright horrific, The Building invites you to wander through an environment where the architecture embodies the logic of bureaucracy: impersonal, opaque, and strangely difficult to escape.
