Across the Netherlands, 30.000 hectares are reserved for military training, while two-thirds of this land is simultaneously protected as nature reserves. In these paradoxical landscapes, war preparation and environmental protection exist in an uneasy balance. This experimental documentary and installation traces the visible and invisible marks of military activity, from scarred and contaminated soil to the psychological impact of preparing for war. It is an invitation to consider how a landscape absorbs violence, even when it is only simulated.
