The Women Gather
In this celebration of International Women’s Day, Eat Your Feelings Cinema and the Nieuwe Instituut present an extended programme that explores the architecture and spaces of the museum building. Join us on a multi-sensory journey with a creative group of feminist artists.

Over the course of the evening, we challenge the stereotypes that women have been subjected to: witch, whore, devoted wife and mother. We work towards an intersectional perspective on the “female” body, a place of potential and pleasure to be unravelled, reassembled, cooked, served, digested and ruminated upon.
Through various performances, film, video installations, music and food, we embark together on a journey of discovery and disorientation in the different spaces of the museum building. Working together with a range of local creatives from different backgrounds, the evening celebrates unity in diversity and mutual support during challenging times.

- 19:30 – 21:00 Performances by Tisa N. Herlec, Chiara Pitrola, and Kexin Hao
- 21:00 – 21:30 Film screenings of Gestures of Collapse (Helen Anna Flanagan, 2019), Nowhere, Now Here (Lavinia Xausa, 2017), and See You Later Space Island (Alice dos Reis, 2022), distribution of Eat Your Feelings snack packs (food design by EYF, including postcards by Hannah Kansy)
- 21:30 – 23:00 Drinks in the Nieuwe Café, with music curated by Psychoklub (Helmondlang and Pemzzi) and opportunity to visit installations by artists Angeliki Diakrousi, Klara Ravat, Chiara Pitrola & June Yu.
