Research Nights: Localhost

Localhost is an online Research Night event exploring digital technology that is local and communal. Can computing that includes social, material and ecological factors take us beyond the personal computer and the cloud? The event will look at how to create, develop, maintain and use digital technology that is site-specific and community-based.

28 November 2024 18:30 - 20:00

During this event we will be joined by the social file exchangers at USB Club as well as the ecology, biology and computing explorer, Claire L. Evans.

Localhost is part of a research project that looks at new ways of using technology together, working towards a collective understanding of digital technology. To start with, we will explore the social potential of USB sticks and computing alongside the more-than-human world.
