Volume 66 Launch at Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam
We invite all humans, animals, plants and other critters to join us at the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam for the launch event of Volume 66. The event features a preview of the Hortus' Climate Greenhouse that is currently under construction, as well as nature-inspired snacks, sounds and readings. Volume contributors and team members will read excerpts from the magazine, bringing its pages to life.

Volume 66: The guide to designing with animals, plants and other critters goes beyond simple definitions to map out the complex relationships between plants, animals, and climate, providing a tool for anyone interested in shaping spaces with ecological awareness. This issue, compiled as a glossary, serves as a design tool to encourage collaboration between species and to incorporate ecosystems into architecture.

Nieuwe Instituut and the Archis Foundation have announced a long-term partnership that will see Volume magazine, the bi-annual international journal of architecture and design culture, become a collaboration between the two organisations. Starting in December 2023, the publication will act as a cross-pollinator between its in-depth editorial content and the research and programmes of the Nieuwe Instituut, while maintaining its editorial independence under its current editor-in-chief, Stephan Petermann.
