How can European cities welcome refugees?

Floris Alkemade, the Dutch Government architect, invites the curators of the Finnish, Austrian and Dutch pavilions to join in a conversation to address one of the most prominent urgencies of our time, the refugee crisis.

27 May 2016 16:00 - 17:00

With over 60 million refugees and internally displaced persons around the world, Dutch and European cities should open up and develop alternative strategies and innovative designs to welcome refugees.

Participants:

  • Juulia Kauste (Finnish Pavilion), commissioner of From Border to Home, Housing Solutions for Asylum Seekers.
  • Elke Delugan-Meissl (Austrian pavilion), curator of 'Places for People'.
  • Malkit Shoshan (Dutch Pavilion), curator of BLUE: Architecture of UN Peacekeeping Missions.

The conversation will take place at the Dutch pavilion on Friday May 27, at 4 p.m., moderated by Matthias Bottger, artistic director of the German Center of Architecture (DAZ).
