The Hoodie: Live on Instagram!
12 March 2020 19:00 - 20:00
CANCELLED. Although Het Nieuwe Instituut, the tour guides and the artist have done everything in their power to make this conversation happen despite the new measures of 12 March, we have to cancel it for the moment. A new date will follow as soon as possible!
In this live interview, tour guides Asha Capella and Florian van Zandwijk talk to artist Bogomir Doringer about his contribution to the exhibition The Hoodie. Follow it on Instagram!
Join us live on Thursday 12 March 2020, at 19:00 Dutch time (GMT+2), for an in-depth conversation with artist Bogomir Doringer. In the context of his work commissioned by Het Nieuwe Instituut and curator Lou Stoppard, Doringer will address the question of who gets to wear what, and how the hoodie relates to both fear and (sexual) seduction, privacy, socio-political struggles and his own earlier works such as _FACELESS_.
"The hoodie constantly swings between Eros and Thanatos and it enables the wearer to exclude themselves from or even connect with others, in the same way a mask can. The hoodie offers a small degree of protection in an age when privacy is a privilege reserved for the few and identities are changed and exploited by technology."
