Opening of the GUD Instituut Living Room
Attend the opening of the GUD Instituut Living Room, part of the Arus Balik – Shifting Currents programme. The deck is designed to resemble an Indonesian ‘ruang tamu’ or living room. Stories are told from the Indonesian diaspora, about hospitality and collective comfort. The Living Room is an initiative by the Indonesian Gudskul and the Nieuwe Instituut and is open for extended hours during this opening.
24 September 2024 10:00 - 20:00
Initiated by Gudskul (Jakarta) and the Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam) the GUD Instituut Living Room is a melting pot for all those involved in the Arus Balik – Shifting Currents programme. Adapting the concept of ruang tamu, the living room, this space engages with the Indonesian diaspora to exchange conversations about socio-spatial histories, hospitality practices and collective solace.
