Paris Design Week: New Store 4.0 - Fashion Farming Talk
On 5 September, as part of Paris Design Week 2025, you are invited to join New Store as it explores what it means to work in fashion holistically. From education and design to practice and industry, we will learn from Dutch and French experts, including artist/ designer Claudy Jongstra, researcher Klaas Kuitenbrouwer (Nieuwe Instituut), and experts from L'Institut Français de la Mode, and gain valuable insights on how together we can rethink existing systems. Trend analyst and consultant Philip Fimmano will lead the conversation.

New Store 4.0 – Fashion Farming
At Paris Design Week 2025 (4-13 September 2025), New Store 4.0 – Fashion Farming presents a dynamic testing ground at Atelier Neérlandais, where visitors become active participants in the creation and research of regenerative fashion. Featuring Dutch and French experts, the Fashion Farming pop-up introduces locally sourced sheep wool, spun, designed, dipped and dyed to create an endless, circular garment that continuously increases in value.
Fashion Farming
A growing number of fashion and textile practitioners are retreating to the countryside to research fashion’s natural origins. Leaving behind industrial methods of mass production, this movement explores non-industrial processes, grounded in agricultural knowledge and experience. So-called “field to fashion” or “farm to closet” pieces are developed using natural fibers and pigments only — materials that restore the source they originate from, rather than harming it.
What does such a holistic approach to fashion and textiles entail? And how could it inform a broader range of design approaches and applications? New Store 4.0 explores possible answers to such questions through the presentation of a regenerative production loop.
