The Nieuwe Café offers a Thursday Bite every Thursday evening from 5 pm: a light vegetarian meal, including a soft drink, from the kitchen of chef Manuela Gonçalves Tavares. You can order the Thursday Bite for ¬10 at the bar on the evening itself7

  Thursday Night Detour
  (Free, max.12 participants)

Every Thursday evening, one of the Detour Guides (formerly known as tour guides) takes you on a free Detour through one of the exhibitions in Het Nieuwe Instituut. Experience design, digital culture and architecture from your guide's perspective. For example, one Detour ends in a joint choreography and you design for insects in another.

  ReShaping Architecture: with Kokon, Bruil and Movares
  Presentation (Free, Dutch)

A symposium organised by Kokon Architectuur & Stedenbouw, Bruil Prefab and advisor Movares about the development of the world's largest 3D concrete printed project, located in Den Helder. Together they discuss the development of this unique design and the design possibilities that this innovative technique brings to the construction industry.

  Research Nights: Threads of Commonality with Sabrina Miller
  Discussion (¬ 7,50 / ¬ 3,75, max. 30 participants)

In the first edition of Research Nights, the Research team of Het Nieuwe Instituut invites artist Half Sister (Sabrina Miller) who will share Ways of Listening: a prelude, a project about Black music as a source of knowledge and a portal of transformation and healing. This work considers the power of storytelling through music and sound as sites and sources of knowledge and emboldens their potential as containers for collective therapy.

End the evening in Het Nieuwe Café, located on the ground floor of Het Nieuwe Instituut, with music by DJ Dey.Rey. No registration needed.

Thursday Night Live! is a weekly evening devoted to burning questions in architecture, design and digital culture, featuring leading speakers from home and abroad.
