Closing Conversations: Flourishing Futures
Join us for the closing event of the 11th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam (IABR) Nature of Hope on 13 October at the Nieuwe Instituut as the IABR curatorial team, exhibition participants and guest speakers engage in a forward-facing discussion on the future of architecture and urbanism.
13 October 2024 11:30 - 14:00
During this closing event Flourishing Futures we will address:
- Material realities: How material constraints have shaped architecture over the last century, and how we can rethink building within planetary and ecological limits?
- Land & Policy: How current planning and policy mechanisms support or hinder architects, planners, and communities in pursuing ecological and equitable practices? What are their limitations and how can they be improved?
- Practice and Infrastructure: What tools we have in our practices, and how we can collaborate to develop a new brief for architecture and urbanism?
This event will explore hopeful perspectives for the future, aiming to redefine the role of architecture and urbanism in a rapidly changing world. The afternoon will conclude with the official launch of the ARCH+ publication, a collaboration between IABR and ARCH+ adding a celebratory close to this afternoon.
The Nature of Hope closing event is a perfect opportunity to visit the exhibition for the last time and to engage with cutting-edge ideas and envision a flourishing future for our built environment.
Please note that a ticket for the event does not give access to the exhibition. Tickets for the Nature of Hope exhibition can be purchased via this link.
