Archive Live! #1: Building for Everyone!

This first edition of Archive Live! focuses on the current housing crisis. There is an urgent need for housing that is socially accessible, healthy and climate-resilient, in neighbourhoods and cities where everyone should feel at home. We have faced similar housing challenges over the past century. Have we learned anything from them, and can we literally build on them?

23 October 2025 17:30 - 19:00

In order to create a more diverse offering, collaboration between the design and construction sectors and the market is essential. Can the Nieuwe Instituut’s architecture collection inspire solutions? Which ideas contribute to good, affordable and diverse housing? We will consider interesting design methods, resident participation and experiments with residential forms and floor plans, for example.

The evening will offer a mix of the past, present and future. It includes an in-depth keynote speech, an interactive panel discussion and inspiring material from the collection.
