Staying with Modernity? explores the entanglements of architecture, modernity and coloniality. The proceedings of the conference, organised by the Jaap Bakema Study Centre, are now available for download.

The 11th edition of the Jaap Bakema Study Centre conference explored the ambiguous nature of modern architecture in relation to exploitative colonial practices. A selection of 28 papers, ranging in context from Northern Ireland to Australia, Nigeria and India, addressed topics such as education, material extraction, heritage and archiving. All the papers are published in full in the conference proceedings.

The Jaap Bakema Study Centre Conference
