PLASTIC
15 January 2015 - 5 April 2015
Interviews
Susan Freinkel was one of the key people that we spoke to in an early stage of the project. As the author of the influential book Plastic, A toxic love story, her knowledge hugely contributed to the project. On October 23 she gave a key note lecture at our Hello.
Catarina Mota is co-founder of Open Materials (do-it-yourself smart materials) which provides an important tool for makers and researchers to share knowledge. The project was on display in the exhibition.
British/ Colombian artist Matthew Plummer-Fernandez critically and playfully examines sociocultural entanglements with technologies. The reason to invite him to be part of the Plastic project was his work Disarming Corruptor, an app for disguising 3D Print files as glitched artefacts. In the context of the 3D-printed gun discussion this proved to be a very important contribution.
