Maximum integration

Stichting Goed Wonen (the Good Living Foundation), founded in 1946, aimed to improve the quality of homes in the Netherlands through exhibitions and publications about good-quality furnishings and interiors. The foundation commissioned photographs of pensioners in the community. It is not known if these photos show a real or an ideal situation. In any case, they exude the atmosphere of the creation of the welfare state after 1945, in which maximum integration of the elderly in the community was a spearhead of government policy.
