The Editorial Studio

As part of the cultural programme, The Editorial Studio creates a space for meaningful conversations about human behaviour, design and cultural production. The project takes place within editorial and design studios across Japan and the Netherlands. It brings together professionals from the cultural, social and creative fields to reflect on key themes from the World Expo and the Dutch programme.

Developed by Studio The Future, Akira Kuroki and Toshiaki Koga (Musashino Art University), the project will host six discussions in Japan. Each session will be led by an expert from the Netherlands and one from Japan, along with a wider group of participants. These conversations will take place in cultural and creative spaces and encourage a diverse exchange of perspectives.

Each session will result in a poster. On one side there will be a visual interpretation and the other will feature a transcription of the discussion in various texts. These posters will be available in bookstores, creative spaces and public spaces throughout Japan, as well as on display in the Netherlands Pavilion.

By documenting and distributing these conversations, The Editorial Studio extends the reach of the cultural programme and supports ongoing dialogue in different contexts.

The Editorial Studios take place on the following dates. The events are by invitation only.
