Equity begins with difference. It asks us to recognise that people live, move, and create from vastly different starting points—and that these differences matter. Instead of aiming to treat everyone the same, equity invites us to shape our spaces, systems, and stories in ways that respond to the realities of inequality.

This Talk Show continues the conversation on Universal Equity, bringing together a new group of makers from Japan and the Netherlands. Through music, movement, and the visual language of books, the participants reflect on how creative work can challenge conventions, create intimacy, and propose new modes of inclusion. The Talk Show creates space for conversation shaped by real examples and the desire to think together. Netherlands-based practitioners will also present their work through short, focused contributions.
Participants include:
- Irma Boom (NL) – internationally renowned book designer known for pushing the boundaries of printed form and visual narrative
- Tomoko Mukaiyama (NL) – pianist, performance artist, and director, joined by We Are The House collaborators Noa Jansma and Kiriko Mechanicus.
