Job Vacancy Marketing and Communication Advisor for NADD
Nieuwe Instituut is seeking a Marketing and Communication Advisor for NADD (32 hours per week) starting 1 April.
The Network Archives Design and Digital Culture (NADD) is a collaborative network of over 50 partner organizations such as Design Museum Den Bosch, Het Utrechts Archief, LI-MA and Allard Pierson Museum, who are all dedicated to creating an accessible national archive for design and digital culture. This initiative is coordinated by the Nieuwe Instituut, and brings together museums, heritage institutions, cultural organizations, educational, research institutions and designers to preserve and share knowledge across the field.
The key mission of NADD is to ensure that design and digital culture archives will be preserved for future generations. To strengthen the visibility and impact of our work, and to amplify our advocacy for the preservation of design and digital culture archives, we are seeking a Marketing and Communications advisor to join our team. This is a dynamic role that requires a strategic and hands-on communicator with a passion for the goals of NADD and a drive to engage diverse audiences across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
As Marketing and Communication Advisor for NADD, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering communications strategies that raise NADD’s profile, engage diverse audiences, and support our advocacy for the preservation of design and digital culture archives. You’ll lead campaigns, create content, and work closely with both internal teams and external partners to produce compelling messaging.
We are looking for someone who is
- A strategic thinker and planner: You can develop and execute communications strategies that align with NADD’s mission and are experienced in working on marketing campaigns. You understand how to balance long-term planning with the agility needed to respond to emerging opportunities.
- Committed to diversity and multivocality: You understand the importance of inclusive communication and are dedicated to ensuring that NADD’s messages and campaigns reflect diverse perspectives. You are keen to amplify voices from different backgrounds and communities, contributing to a rich, multifaceted narrative in all our communication.
- A strong storyteller: You are an excellent writer and editor (ideally in both Dutch and English), capable of producing clear, compelling content across platforms (websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, etc.). You have a good eye for design and can ensure that all communications reflect NADD’s visual identity and tone.
- Able to manage multiple priorities: You are a strong planner who can manage your time and workload effectively, even under pressure, and you’re capable of juggling short-term tasks while keeping long-term goals in sight.
- Hands-on: You are comfortable managing both the big picture and the details—whether it’s crafting an engaging social media post or overseeing a complex communications campaign.
- Collaborative and communicative: You work effectively with writers, graphic designers, and external collaborators, bringing out the best in your team while managing the delegation of tasks. You also work closely with partners and stakeholders to align messaging and esnure maximum impact.
- Energetic and proactive: You bring passion and enthusiasm to your work, constantly seeking new ways to engage audiences and improve NADD’s visibility and impact.

Work conditions and salary
A 1-year appointment with the prospect of a permanent position with good performance. Salary in scale 10 according to the Museum CAO, with an appropriate package of benefits in line with the market, including a year-end bonus of 3.4%.
