Wiki edit-a-thon: female architects
Women are still largely under-represented in architecture and the history of architecture. Under the professional guidance of the Dutch Wikipedia gender gap work group, and with the official support of Dutch Wikimedia, Het Nieuwe Instituut is organising a writing afternoon. The session is open to both beginners and experienced writers, and no previous experience is required.

Women are still largely under-represented in architecture and the history of architecture. Out of around 700 architect's archives in the National Collection for Dutch Architecture and Urban Planning, only 26 are attributed to women. Het Nieuwe Instituut seeks to broaden notions around architecture and design practice situated in the current social context, including questions about who and what could, or should, be included in these professions.
Het Nieuwe Instituut, the Wikimedia community and Wikimedia Netherlands are collaborating during the Feminist Assembly Month Wiki Edit-a-thon to continue bridging the gender gap. Join the Edit-a-thon to add information from the archives and library on female architects, designers, and practitioners to Wikipedia. To encourage everyone to write more about women in architecture Het Nieuwe Instituut issues a writing contest. There are two categories; Best Article and Best Datastory.
