In Het Nieuwe Instituut's Thursday Night Live! programme on the 9th of May the bni: professional association of Dutch interior architects and NVTL: Dutch association for garden and landscape architecture (NVTL) organize a program at invitation with two speakers, design and interior historian Ilja Meijer and landscape architect Jos van de Lindeloof followed by a panel discussion

In response to the research programme Landscape and Interior, formulated by Het Nieuwe Instituut, the bni and NVTL challenge to explore together the boundaries and similarities regarding the interior and exterior. The question is at the heart of how connections between inside and outside are established in the design practice. It will become clear that interior architecture and garden/landscaping are no longer the separate islands they once were. Many agencies offer a total service from the 'Inside Out' or from the 'Outside In'. How has this developed over time? And what does this mean for the definition of the term space?

How do Garden and landscape architects get inspired by indoor spaces? How do they involve indoor spaces in their design, how do they deal with the transition between inside and outside, what means they use, how do they translate interior elements to their design, etc.
