FamilieFest: Collection of Us
During the spring break, families are invited to come together for our first ever bilingual FamilieFest! Together with the (international) team behind the research project Collecting Otherwise, you will take on the role of archivist during 'FamilieFest: Collection of Us'.
2 March 2022 11:00 - 17:00
In _FamilieFest: Collection of Us _you can discover, in all sorts of playful ways, how we can collect, how we ourselves are collections, and how we can take care of those collections.
Help us design letters that will become part of our archive, or contribute to our very own FamilieFest: Collection of Us zine, build your own archive, and more!
Be surprised by unexpected and practical collaborations with researchers, designers and artists from the research project Collecting Otherwise.
This event will be open to both Dutch and English speakers.
What make you, you in a loom?
with Tabea Nixdorff and Esmée Dros
Who are you and what exactly makes you, you? How would you describe your family? Who do you look up to? Discover the ways in which a person is who they are in What make you, you in a loom?
CollectiZine
with Carolina Pinto
Write, scribble, cut and paste, and help us create stories about collecting. Transform your designs into pages that at the end of the day will be bundled together to form our very own CollectiZine.
TimeKeeper
with Delany Boutkan and Wietske Flederus
Step into the shoes of an archivist, a caregiver of the past. What do you think should be kept in an archive? How do you take care of a memory? What is the best way to save a feeling? Discover how to build an archive of your own and how to give it care in Timekeeper.
Asterisk Tree
with Setareh Noorani and Erik Peters
Imagine you had to describe an image of the past: what do you see? What catches your eye? How would you describe this to someone? During Asterisk Tree you can help us come up with descriptions for images from the archive. Are you able to come up with the perfect one?
Letter Type
with Esther de Vries and Janna Meeus
What if you could design your own alphabet? What would the letter A look like if you could design it? And the letter Q? Or the letter F? In this workshop your design will literally and figuratively become the basis for a font that will become a part of our alphabet archive.
Have you eaten yet?
