Join guide Wietske Flederus on Thursday 21 April at 7pm for the Thursday Night Detour through the exhibition 'The Future Through Artificial Eyes'.
21 April 2022 19:00 - 20:00
Wietske Flederus
If you were to ask her directly, Wietske Flederus would describe herself as a curious creator looking for a connection with others. Her favourite way of finding this is by taking visitors along through a story. The way in which this takes place differs each time: through a perfomance, installation, (audio)tour, or something else. Her favourite things are strong stories, the sound of rain on your tent and the first cup of coffee in the morning.
"I would like to give visitors an experience by questioning our surroundings and thoughts collectively. This could help them see things in their environment differently than they usually do."
The Future Through Artificial Eyes
In the installation The Future Through Artificial Eyes by researcher and designer Richard Vijgen, visitors can explore future visions from the past 20 years with the help of artificial intelligence. By playing with the 'eyes' with which the computer views the archive of the future-themed Dutch TV programme VPRO Tegenlicht, visitors experience how it processes information. What patterns does it 'see' in 555 VPRO Tegenlicht TV shows?
Thursday Night Detour
Every Thursday night a Detour Guide takes you on a free Detour through one of the exhibitions on display at Het Nieuwe Instituut.
