Thursday Night Detour with Wietske
Join detour guide Wietske Flederus on Thursday 7 April at 7pm for the Thursday Night Detour through the exhibition 'The Future Through Artificial Eyes'.
7 April 2022 19:00 - 19:30
Wietske Flederus
If you were to ask Wietske Flederus directly, she would describe herself as a curious creator that seeks to find a connection with others. Her favourite way to do this is by taking visitors along through a story. The way in which this takes place differs each time: through a perfomance, installation, (audio)tour or something else. Her favourite things are strong stories, the sound of rain on your tent and the first cup of coffee in the morning.
"I would like to give visitors an experience by questioning our surroundings and thoughts collectively which could help them see things in their environment differently than they usually do".
The Future Through Artificial Eyes
In the installation The Future Through Artificial Eyes by researcher and designer Richard Vijgen, visitors can explore future visions from the past twenty years with the help of artificial intelligence. By playing with the 'eyes' with which the computer views the archive of the future-themed Dutch TV programme VPRO Tegenlicht, visitors experience how it processes information. What patterns does it 'see' in 555 VPRO Tegenlicht broadcasts?
Thursday Night Detour
Every Thursday night a detour guide takes you on a free detour through one of the exhibitions on display at Het Nieuwe Instituut. Discover design, digital culture and architecture from the perspective, expertise and knowledge of the detour guide. Each detour is different. A detour might end up in a joint choreography or in a design of a space for insects.
