Sunday Stroll with Shahaila
Join the 'Sunday Stroll 'on 13 December and explore the exhibition 'Art on Display 1949-69' with detour guide, artist and lawyer Shahaila Winklaar. Together with Shahaila, we will investigate how 'Art on Display' draws our attention to the way artworks are presented, rather than to the artworks themselves.
13 December 2020 14:00 - 15:00
Art on Display 1949-69 is an exhibition that focuses not on the artworks themselves, but on the way they are presented. How do we show art? And how do we look at it, as museum visitors? Art on Display brings together some of the most progressive post-war exhibition designs by architects, giving us a unique opportunity to experience and compare these various approaches in person.
As an artist, lawyer, and tour guide, Shahaila has moved through the Dutch House of Representatives, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, the Parade and the Mauritshuis. She is curious about people and their stories, vision and motivations. Her favourite things are free-style knitting, in-depth sofa hanging and her e-reader.
