Sunday Stroll with Erik
On 6 September, detour guide Erik Peters took us through the exhibition Atelier Nelly and Theo van Doesburg in a 'Sunday Stroll' that focused on narratives. Eric explored the question of who gets to (re)write their own stories, and the role of art in this? Alternative storylines discussed included the alter egos of Nelly van Doesburg, 'the black lines of De Stijl', the tesseract and the vanished cube.

Erik is the newest member of the detour team. He's a designer, researcher and musician who is mainly interested in understanding and deconstructing the systems of society on a political, ecological, social or technological level. His practice is focused on speculative design, combining research and ficition.
"As a designer I create space where we can discuss and reflect. I question, visualise, speculate, dream, reflect, connect, build and offer alternatives."
