Sunday Stroll with Asha
For the next 'Sunday Stroll,' on 4 October at 2pm, detour guide Asha Capella will lead us through the exhibition 'Lithium, 'about the mineral that powers the batteries of our mobile phones, laptops and electric vehicles. During the event, Asha encourages us to check our own batteries and discover what energises us and what depletes us, as individuals and also as a society.
4 October 2020 14:00 - 15:00
Charging our human batteries is a prominent theme in the new exhibition _Lithium. _Conceived as a spa resort (revitalising lithium spas were all the rage in the 19th century), it highlights the beneficial and destructive aspects of the eternal human search for energy. Researchers, designers and artists reflect on the role of the element lithium in powering today's economy. How many times can we recharge our batteries without addressing the causes of depletion, in both human bodies and the planet?
Detour guide Asha is an all-rounder who loves to learn and do new things. Her passion for cooking translates to her being a chef, and her favourite things are food, people dancing offbeat and her family.
"If you're enthousiastic about and familiar with a subject, as well as being good at communicating that, then you're a good detour guide."
