Sashiko and Boro Stitching
Sashiko and boro are Japanese repair and recycling techniques dating from the 17th century. These flat stitching techniques were developed by Japanese workers to protect or repair their clothes. By applying extra pieces of fabric and numerous stitches, the fabric becomes stronger and warmer.
