Guided Tour: Atelier Nelly and Theo van Doesburg
30 July 2020 17:00 - 18:00
We invite Members of Het Nieuwe Instituut to join a special guided tour of _Atelier Nelly and Theo Van Doesburg _with Huub Breuer of Disclosing Architecture.
_Atelier Nelly and Theo Van Doesburg _offers a fresh look at the work of Nelly and Theo van Doesburg, made possible thanks to the restoration of their architecture archive. The exhibition recognises Nelly as a key figure in consolidating the reputation of Van Doesburg and De Stijl. The magnificent focus of the exhibition is on the couple's most striking joint project: their studio home in the Parisian suburb of Meudon. Huub Breuer of _Disclosing Architecture_ will show us around and share his insights.
Disclosing Architecture
Because of its special cultural and historical value, the Van Doesburg collection has been extensively researched, preserved and restored where necessary within the extensive Disclosing Architecture restoration programme. Disclosing Architecture looks at archive collections from possible new perspectives, in order to reformulate the collection policy and provide new input concerning the valuation of historical sources.
