Paula Strunden – Drawing a Virtual Utopia
Move through your own utopia with VR artist Paula Strunden. Paula will demonstrate an intuitive technology that brings Virtual Reality within reach. Participants project their ideal learning environment with paint and brush onto a 360° panoramic photograph of a space inside Het Nieuwe Instituut. The designs will then be converted to 3D and can be experienced live with the aid of cardboard VR glasses. The result is a micro-utopia, a shared, immersive and interactive version of the future learning environment of your dreams.
7 March 2019 19:30 - 21:30
Paula Strunden studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna and Paris before graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL. With experience working for Archithese, Raumlabor and Herzog & de Meuron, Paula continuously explores the spectacular spatial potential within Virtual Reality / Augmented reality (VR/AR) and Mixed Reality (MR) environments. She has led a series of VR workshops, tutored at the Bartlett Summer School Programme and holds a teaching position at the Architectural Association.
