Opening WASTELAND Festival 2025 – Out of Sight
Is waste boring? Absolutely not! Join us as we celebrate the opening of the WASTELAND Festival – Out of Sight, kicking off a month full of activities about how Rotterdam deals with waste.
9 July 2025 22:00 - 11 July 2025 22:00
In the industrial environment of Rotterdam, the third edition of the WASTELAND Festival explores how the city deals with waste, and its role in consumption and innovation. Through art, guided tours, communal dinners and educational programmes, the festival starts a conversation about the impact of waste and the systems that manage it.
At WASTELAND Festival – Out of Sight, artists reveal the hidden world of waste through performances, films and installations that invite us to look differently at consumption, waste and innovation in the city.
Artists
Gaia D’Arrigo, Tanja Engelberts, Kexin Hao, TiTiSi, Vox Supreme, the Hamburger Community, Francisco Lobo and Romea Muryń.
The full opening programme will be announced later, so keep an eye on our website.
Collective WASTELAND
The current waste crisis is the result of our collective actions and calls for a collective solution. Since 2022, Collective WASTELAND has been working on art projects and collaborations to raise awareness about waste, bringing together people from different fields, from art and design to activism, industry and science.
